Alrihkh
A decent, psychedelic metal song with a philosophical slant. I like the intensity of it at it’s end, and personally would have liked that segment to have gone on longer. The song structure follows the concept well, though. Tool-esque. 6/10.
Favorite track: Zenith.
'Zenith' is the second single off the long-awaited sophomore release, 'II', from independent Australian psychedelic/progressive band Lucid Planet. The song starts wistful and contemplative, then builds energy with the recognition that our collective journey rests on the sum total of all individual journeys. Our personal experience is not only powerful but also necessary to bring about more light, understanding, and connection to our collective circumstance.
'Lucid Planet II' is out now, and can be purchased in a beautifully packaged CD format, with 24-page artwork and lyrics booklet, from the band's official website: www.lucidplanet.net. There is also some vividly detailed merchandise using the artwork of Mr Crystalface (www.mrcrystalface.com) also available, along with lots of other cool stuff to check out.
Through the storm
The mist
There's new beginnings
Stand reborn
In the wind
With so much to offer
Reform
In the wind
With so much to offer
Buried deep
Cold self-beliefs
Unfair standards and
Honest failings
It’s sad to see
Your reality
Descend into
Unloving stories
But always in reach
A moment so free
Unguarded you’ll face
Your own self-deceit
Words manifesting
Reverberating
So mind what you say
‘Cause you might be listening
Of what chance to breathe at all
Alive, home as just one
While one with the whole
To honour or claim indifference
So lost within our own worlds
We so often forget
How much remains unseen
Serving only self
Alone, severing a tie
Self-interest at the zenith
Atone with a life's word
A beacon to shine a light on
What we’re capable of
Untold, only time will show
Will we lead or fall in line
When all said and done
How will you become
One more to see it through
Who will you be for us now
As one under the same sun
Bright enough to light up
Our home, our divine connection
A mirror, the reflection
That we’ve known all along
Are we strong enough
To harden the will of our word
